This delightful puppet was used to create awareness of the right for children with disabilities to have equal access to quality education.

Equal right, Equal opportunity: Education and Disability

The Global Campaign for Education is a civil society movement that aims to end the global education crisis.  Their 2014 campaign was entitled Equal Right, Equal Opportunity: Education and Disability. The Global action week was held in May and included thousands of schools in over 90 countries.  In support of these efforts, the Rural Ability Programme and Zithulele Hospital Rehabilitation department wrote a short story about a little boy with a disability and how he wished to go to school.  Using puppets, they performed this story at Zithulele and Khanyisa Preschools to sensitise the young learners to the needs of every child to have access to education and to encourage them to include children with disabilities in all aspects of the learning experience.
